Georgina Harding

Georgina Harding (born June 11, 1955 in Shrewsbury ) is a British writer.

Life

Harding graduated from the University of Sussex (BA). She married David Lewis and they have one child. Harding traveled through Romania in 1988 in the final phase of the Ceausescu regime and published a book about it. This was followed by a travel report on fishermen on the Coromandel Coast in India.

Her first novel, The Solitude of Thomas Cave , was published in 2006. Harding's novel Painter of Silence was shortlisted for the Orange Prize for Fiction in 2012 .

She lives and works in London and on a farm in Essex's Stour Valley .
