Georgine Schwartze
Georgine Elisabeth Schwartze (born April 12, 1854 in Amsterdam ; † August 8, 1935 there ) was a Dutch sculptor .
Life
Elisabeth Schwartze was born in Amsterdam as the daughter of the painter Johann Georg Schwartze and Maria Elisabeth Theresia Herrmann (1822-1896). Her sister was Thérèse Schwartze . She received her early artistic training from her father, and later she was taught by Jan Braet von Überfeldt . In October 1879 she was accepted at the Academy of Fine Arts in Amsterdam and devoted herself to sculpture under the direction of Frans Stracké and Ferdinand Leenhoff . She mainly worked with marble , plaster and terracotta .
