Georgsmühle , formerly just a mill , is a former mill and is now a residential area in the Lauda-Königshofener district of Oberbalbach in the Main-Tauber district in the Franconian north-east of Baden-Württemberg .
geography
The Georgsmühle is located about 350 meters west and down the valley from Oberbalbach in the Balbachtal . Other surrounding places are Deubach about 2 kilometers in the north-west and Unterbalbach down the valley and about 2.5 kilometers in the south-west.
history
On the measuring table sheet no. 6424 "Königshofen" from 1881 a mill was recorded on site.
The living space came to the city of Lauda-Königshofen as part of the formerly independent municipality of Oberbalbach on January 1, 1975, when the city of Lauda merged with the city of Königshofen and the municipality of Unterbalbach as part of the regional reform in Baden-Württemberg . Other former communities, including Oberbalbach, were added.

Cultural monuments in the vicinity of the residential area are recorded in the list of cultural monuments in Lauda-Königshofen . There is a wayside shrine on an access road.
Beer garden and tavern
A beer garden on site is a popular destination for bicycle tourists. The Balbachtal cycle path branches off from the Taubertal cycle path in Unterbalbach and leads up through the Balbach valley, directly past the Georgsmühle. An inn offers overnight accommodation at the Georgsmühle.
traffic
The place can be reached via a farm road branching off from the K 2847 as well as via St.-Georg-Straße from the direction of Oberbalbach or by bike via the already mentioned Balbachtalradweg.
