Gerald Glatzmayer (born December 13, 1968 in Vienna ; † January 11, 2001 near Schwechat ) was an Austrian football player .

Athletic career

Glatzmayer began his professional career in 1985 as a midfielder at FK Austria Wien . For the 1987/88 season he moved to First Vienna . There he was active until the 1989/1990 season. Then he switched to Admira Wacker . In the 1994/1995 season Glatzmayer played at VSE St. Pölten and then moved to SV Schwechat in the 1995/1996 season . He ended his career at SV Göllersdorf.

National team

Between 1988 and 1990 Glatzmayer played six games for the Austrian national soccer team and scored one goal. At the 1990 World Cup in Italy , he was a member of the national team. In the game against the USA , he had his last appearance in the national team.

death

On January 11, 2001, Glatzmayer was killed in a traffic accident between Schwechat and Kledering. The burial took place at the parish cemetery "Klein-Schwechat" on Alanovaplatz in Schwechat.
