Gerald Grusser

Gerald Grusser (born July 5, 1956 ) is a German association official . He was chief executive of the Erfurt Chamber of Commerce and Industry , is honorary consul of Sweden and honorary professor at the University of Erfurt .

Life

Grusser graduated in economics at the universities of Leipzig and Halle and graduated as a Master of Economics from. From 1982 to 1990 he held management positions in the areas of production, materials management and sales in metalworking companies in Leipzig and Erfurt , before he became deputy general manager and managing director of the industry / foreign trade division of the IHK Erfurt as well as managing director of the Thuringian foreign trade promotion agency in 1990. In 1998 he was appointed managing director of the IHK Erfurt. In September 2019 he retired as General Manager for reasons of age.

Grusser holds several honorary positions. He has been Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Sweden for Thuringia since 2005 and honorary professor at the University of Erfurt since December 2015 , where he teaches business start-ups at the Faculty of Political Science. Grusser was also a member of the university council of the Adam-Ries-Fachhochschule and the dual university Gera-Eisenach . He is active in the Central German State Board of Trustees of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft, on the Presidium of the Board of Trustees of the Thüringer Sporthilfe Foundation and a member of the board of the Staatswissenschaftlichen Forum eV and the board of the Thuringian Economic Archives eV He acts as an ambassador for the city of Erfurt. He is also a member of the Wilhelm Röpke Institute and has been a member of the radio council of Deutschlandradio since 2019 .
