Gerald Pinkenburg (born March 2, 1963 in Wunstorf ) is a German journalist and author .

His journalistic career began in the summer of 1985 in the Lower Saxony State Broadcasting House of the North German Broadcasting Corporation (NDR) in Hanover. His first radio report was entitled “What are students doing in class?” On the youth program “PopFit” on NDR.

After two years in the NDR , Gerald Pinkenburg switched to the private radio station Radio ffn in Isernhagen near Hanover. There he produced radio reports and moderated various programs before going self-employed after a year with a colleague. Together they produced radio reports for the entire ARD and often appeared live on the radio. In addition, Gerald Pinkenburg learned the news trade again at the Lower Saxony State Broadcasting House of the NDR in Hanover, where he presented the news programs and moderated radio programs on HR3 and Radio Bremen 4 , where he was also in charge of the service. He also took on editorial responsibility at Westdeutscher Rundfunk (WDR) in Cologne, where he also moderated morning and morning programs from 1990 to 1995. After his marriage to the radio journalist Sabine Pinkenburg on December 9, 1994 and a short permanent position as editor at the " Deutsche Welle " in Cologne, he moved back to the Lower Saxony state broadcasting company of the NDR in Hanover. Here his television career began. Initially as the author of the program “ Hallo Niedersachsen ”, he later moderated this program and was employed as a live reporter. Until 2005 he was also part of the regular reporter staff of " ARD Aktuell ". He reported mainly from business and politics for the programs “ Tagesschau ”, “ Tagesthemen ”, “ Mittagsmagazin ”, “ Nachtmagazin ” and “ Morgenmagazin ”.

From 2005 Gerald Pinkenburg went into business for himself together with his colleague Kurt Neubert. They developed a range of seminars for specialists and managers. For these and other customers, the company called "mevoxis media", based in Wunstorf, also produced corporate films. Among other things, Gerald Pinkenburg developed the format as an employee television portal together with Volkswagen AG .

In 2008, Gerald Pinkenburg returned to journalism exclusively. He produced 45-minute documentaries for Norddeutscher Rundfunk in Hamburg and worked as an editor and author for the Franco-German cultural broadcaster ARTE in Strasbourg.

Since mid-July 2015 he has been working exclusively as an editor and presenter for the radio station Südwestrundfunk (SWR) in Baden-Baden.
