Gerald Selch

Gerald Selch (born July 10, 1969 in Waldsassen ) is a German journalist . He was deputy editor-in-chief of the news magazine Focus and the Bild (newspaper) . Selch is Head of Content Management at the looping group .

Life

From 1988 to 1990 Selch was initially a volunteer and then an editor at the Bavarian regional newspaper Der neue Tag in Weiden in the Upper Palatinate . From 1990 to 1991 he was an editor at Bild Dresden , and from 1991 to 1992 he was the chief editor of the Austrian tabloid daily Alles . He then went back to the Bild newspaper, where he initially worked for the federal editorial office in Hamburg between 1992 and 1995, and from 1995 to 1996 for Sport Bild, also in Hamburg. From 1996 to 2000 he worked at Bild und Bild am Sonntag as an author, from 2001 to 2003 as chief reporter.

In 2003 he switched to the Munich tabloid tz as deputy editor-in-chief and head of sports , where he received a prize from the Christian media association KEP in 2004 for reporting on the faith of the Brazilian soccer player Zé Roberto . In March 2006, Selch left tz in the course of the affair surrounding the false report about the involvement of some football players in a betting scandal.

From 2006 to 2007 Selch was an author at the Süddeutsche Zeitung Magazin and developed the planned but unrealized Sunday edition of the Süddeutsche Zeitung in a leading position .

In 2007 Selch returned to Axel Springer AG as head of the editorial team at Bild Hamburg and thus successor to Marion Horn . On January 1, 2009, he became a member of the editor-in-chief and text chief at the federal editorial office of Bild in Berlin. At the end of 2009 he was involved in a project to publish a picture offshoot for young people. In 2010 Selch also became the head of entertainment at Bild . His predecessor in this post was Daniel Steil . In 2011 he was appointed deputy editor-in-chief of Bild .

From April 2013 to April 2015 Selch was deputy editor-in-chief of the news magazine Focus .

On May 1, 2015, Selch moved to the Blumberry communications agency, which belongs to Commarco Holding (including Scholz & Friends ), as a senior partner and member of the management team .

Since May 1, 2017 Selch has been Head of Content Management of the Looping Group with locations in Berlin, Munich and Hamburg. There he heads a brand publishing team made up of journalists and data experts. The customers of the Looping Group, which was co-founded by ex-Stern editor-in-chief Dominik Wichmann , include Daimler AG and its Mercedes-Benz brand.
