Gerard Claesz Hasselaer

Gerard Claesz Hasselaer (born November 13, 1620 in Amsterdam ; † June 12, 1673 there ) was Mayor and Schout of Amsterdam.

He came from the Hasselaer patrician family . Gerard Claes Hasselaer was appointed councilor of the city in 1653 . In 1647 he became treasurer , and in 1650 for the first time Schepen Amsterdam. His two years in office as mayor fell in 1665 and 1669. Hasselaer was also councilor in the States General from 1666 . In 1669 he was appointed Schout, a position he held until the year of his death.
