Gerard Gomila Carulla (born May 9, 1995 in Barcelona ) is a Spanish - German basketball player on the position of the winger . He was in the squad of the German second division club 1. FC Baunach until 2018 .
career
Gomila comes from the youth department of the Spanish top club Joventut Badalona , who produced the later NBA players Ricky Rubio , Rudy Fernandez and Raul Lopez , among others . In 2013 he moved to CB Prat Juventud - Joventut Badalona promotes his youngsters in the team - and rose with the club from the third-highest to the second-highest league in Spain.
In June 2015 he accepted an offer from the German second division club Oettinger Rockets Gotha . In the 2016/17 season he was ProA runner-up with Gotha, which meant promotion to the Bundesliga. Gomila contributed to this success with averages of 4.1 points, 2.8 rebounds and 2.7 assists (in 34 games).
In the summer of 2017, he moved to the ProA league club 1. FC Baunach and played for the team until the end of the 2017/18 season before returning to Spain to study there.
National team
Gomila reached the semi-finals with Spain's U17 national team at the 2012 World Cup and won bronze with Spain's U18 team in 2013. In 2015 he was part of the squad of Spain's U20 national team.
