Gerd Häusler

Gerd Häusler (born May 5, 1951 in Banteln , Hildesheim district ) is a lawyer and bank manager.

Life

Häusler completed his training as a banker at Deutsche Bank in Darmstadt. He then studied law in Frankfurt and Geneva; He completed his legal clerkship at the Deutsche Bundesbank . In 1978 he started his career at the Deutsche Bundesbank. In 1994 he was appointed a member of the Board of Directors and the Central Bank Council of the Deutsche Bundesbank. In 1996, Häusler moved to Dresdner Bank , where he was a member of the Board of Management of Investment Banking ( Dresdner Kleinwort Benson ).

In August 2001, Häusler started at the International Monetary Fund (IMF) in Washington, where he headed the capital markets department. In 2006 he moved to the US investment bank Lazard , where he was Vice Chairman of International Business and a member of the German Advisory Board.

From October 2008 to March 2010, Häusler was a member of the board of directors of the Belgian investment company RHJ International . In 2009, together with Leonhard Fischer , he led the negotiations for RHJ International in connection with the upcoming sale of the car manufacturer Opel by General Motors .

From August 2009 to March 2010 he was Deputy Chairman of the BayernLB Supervisory Board , which was headed by the Bavarian Finance Minister Georg Fahrenschon ( CSU ). From April 2010 he was chairman of the management board for four years and chairman of the supervisory board between October 2014 and April 2018.

Reports from the “Passauer Neue Presse” and the “Handelsblatt” that Häusler would withdraw from the head of the Landesbank in the near future and no longer fulfill his contract, which actually ran until 2015, were confirmed in industry circles on September 22, 2013 (election Sunday). On March 31, 2014, Häusler resigned from the position of CEO. He is now chairman of the supervisory board.

Gerd Häusler has been Chairman of the Supervisory Board of DKB Deutsche Kreditbank AG since 2013 , (now: Johannes-Jörg Riegler). Häusler has been a member of Munich Re's Supervisory Board since May 2014 .
