Gerd Lindner-Bonelli

Gerd Lindner-Bonelli (born September 4, 1922 in Dresden ; † 2006 in Schwerin ) was a mandolin virtuoso who also gave international concerts in the 1960s and 1970s.

Life

From 1936 he had private lessons with Jorgos Chartofilax . From 1942 he was on tour with his own quartet. From 1951 he studied with Erich Repke at the Liszt School of Music Weimar . He was the musical companion of Roland Zimmer and Erhard Fietz . From 1960 he worked as a mandolin teacher at the Schwerin Conservatory . From 1960 to 1965 he was a professor at the "Hanns Eisler" University of Music in Berlin .

Lindner-Bonelli also played as a soloist in the GDR with the Zupf ensemble of the Free German Trade Union Federation . With the double quartet of the FDGB Die Mandolinisten , which he directed from 1954 to 1958, works for mandolin and plucked orchestra were regularly performed.

Lindner-Bonelli worked primarily in the German Democratic Republic , but also received invitations to West Berlin and other European countries, including Austria and Italy . As a soloist, Lindner-Bonelli made music in the West with the RIAS Chamber Orchestra, among others .

Prizes and awards

In 1951 Lindner-Bonelli was honored as a soloist at the World Youth Games.
