Gerda Mehta (born March 4, 1955 in Leoben ), who previously published under the name Gerda Klammer from her first marriage , is an Austrian psychologist , systemic psychotherapist , mediator and author. In 2003 she was elected President of the Professional Association of Austrian Psychologists (BÖP) and in this capacity opened the 8th European Congress of Psychologists . Gerda Mehta lives in Vienna and teaches at the Sigmund Freud Private University .

Career

Mehta completed her studies in Salzburg , Vienna , Memphis and at the Galvestone Family Institute in Houston (with Harold A. Goolishian ). She led projects for psychotherapy training in Moscow and Rostov and worked on the reform of youth welfare at Care in Serbia . Mehta's main job is in the Office for Youth and Family of the City of Vienna. She also teaches at the Austrian Working Group for Systemic Therapy and Systemic Studies (ÖAS) and at the ARGE Bildungsmanagement in Vienna. Gerda Mehta is married to the Indian nuclear physicist Kishor Mehta and specializes in "supporting peaceful human coexistence" in theory and methodology.
