Gerda Weneskoski

Gerda Weneskoski (born March 16, 1892 in Oulu ; † October 4, 1984 ) was a Finnish pianist and music teacher.

Weneskoski studied piano with Gerda Schnéevoigt at the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki from 1910 to 1915 and then taught in Oulu, Tampere and Helsinki. She was best known as a piano accompanist and chamber musician. From 1928 to the end of the 1950s she worked as a piano accompanist at Yleisradio (Finnish Broadcasting Corporation). She also taught piano at the Helsinki Conservatory from 1925 to 1970. She was married to the violinist Ilmari Weneskoski . Her son Jorma Weneskoski is a jazz double bass player.
