Gerhard Anzengruber

Gerhard Anzengruber (born June 26, 1958 in Hallein ) is an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ). From 2013 to 2018 he was mayor of the district capital Hallein in the state of Salzburg .

Life

Gerhard Anzengruber completed an apprenticeship as a car technician, then an apprenticeship in the areas of customs and police services in Salzburg and Vienna . He then worked in the criminal service. He is married and has two daughters.

politics

Anzengruber had been a member of Hallein's municipal council since 1997. Since 2004 he has been second (responsible for building and spatial planning matters) and since 2009 first deputy mayor (responsible for procurement matters in the social and housing sector). Anzengruber has been mayor of Hallein since June 20, 2013 as the successor to Christian Stöckl (ÖVP), who became the second deputy governor in the state of Salzburg. Anzengruber was elected with 17 out of 23 votes, so it also received non-ÖVP votes. After two terms in office, Anzengruber could not be re-elected and resigned in 2018 due to his 60th birthday. Until the mayoral election in March 2019, Maximilian Klappacher (ÖVP) led the fortunes of the city of Hallein as mayor. He then lost the mayor's office to Alexander Stangassinger ( SPÖ ) in the second ballot .

Anzengruber was chairman of the ÖVP Hallein.
