Gerhard Friedl
Gerhard Friedl (born July 21, 1967 in Bad Aussee ; † July 3, 2009 in Berlin ) was an Austrian filmmaker .
Life
Gerhard Benedikt Friedl first studied philosophy at the University of Vienna and then moved to the University of Television and Film Munich (HFF) to study film directing. His graduation film at the HFF and also his feature film debut was in 2004. Did Wolff von Amerongen commit bankruptcy crimes? . He then worked as a cameraman, film editor, curator of film shows, film and photo critic and director for television, advertising and industrial films. At times he was a lecturer in contemporary documentary film at the HFF Munich. From October to December 2007 he was a fellow at the Villa Aurora in Los Angeles . He lived in Berlin and Marseille .
In July 2009 Friedl died of suicide in Berlin. Gerhard Friedl is buried at the mountain cemetery in Grundlsee, Ausseerland, Styria.
