Gerhard Geisler (actor)

Gerhard Geisler (born October 21, 1907 in Cottbus , † September 22, 1977 in Vienna ) was a German actor in theater, film and television. He also worked as a voice actor .

life and career

Gerhard Geisler, born in Cottbus in 1907, got a theater engagement in Bochum from 1930 to 1934 after completing his training at the State Drama School in Berlin . During the war he only had a few short appearances in German films. In 1948 he was seen as an actor in the role of Willy in Heinz Hilpert's film production with Heinz Rühmann in Der Herr vom Another Stern . In 1966 he was cast by the director Hans Mehringer in the crime film Der Würger vom Tower in the role of Dr. Livingstone.

From 1958 to 1971 Geisler also played numerous television roles. 1962 also in the German series Who once eats from a tin bowl . In addition, Geisler has lent his voice over the decades to many internationally known colleagues in over 30 speaking roles as a voice actor. Among other things, he dubbed Anthony Quinn in a total of 14 films, including The Cannons of Navarone and Lawrence of Arabia .

Geisler died on September 22, 1977 at the age of 69 in Vienna.
