Gerhard Hintschich

Gerhard Hintschich (born June 26, 1924 in Hof in Moravia , † 1986 in Frankfurt am Main ) was a German painter and graphic artist .

Life

After returning from captivity, Gerhard Hintschich began his artistic training in 1948 at the drawing school in Biedenkopf . From 1949 to 1952 he studied with Professor Willi Baumeister in Stuttgart. In 1951/52 he received a scholarship from the French government at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was able to hold his first solo exhibition there. At the Hochschule für Bildende Künste in Frankfurt am Main he continued his studies from 1953 to 1956 as a master class student with Professor Albert Burkart . In 1957 he received the Rome Prize Scholarship from the German Academy Rome Villa Massimo .

Gerhard Hintschich was a member of the "Frankfurter Sezession" and the German Werkbund . He lived and worked in Frankfurt am Main.

At an exhibition in Paris in 1955, Gerhard Hintschich said: “ Je m'efforce de parvenir à la synthèse de l'abstrait et d'une nouvelle formule de l'art figuratif. “-“ I try to achieve a synthesis of the abstract and a new form of representational art. “This statement is reflected in his work. The stations of his artistic path include abstract still lifes as well as pictures that seem to be composed of heavy bars of color and finally works in which the graphic comes to the fore. The graphic element of the line has been determining, especially since the mid-1960s, in Hintschich's lithographs and paintings. Lines are put together to form figures and structures, combine to form shapes and colored compositions that create dynamic perspective, space and depth.

Gerhard Hintschich was involved in numerous art exhibitions at home and abroad. B. the "Fifth international Biennal of Contemporary Color Lithography" in Cincinnati 1958, at the International Graphic Exhibition in Biella, Italy in 1965 and at exhibitions of the Frankfurt Secession and the Frankfurt Art Cabinet. Many solo exhibitions of his works took place in well-known galleries.
