Gerhard Horstkemper

Gerhard Horstkemper (born November 13, 1927 in Rietberg ; † September 22, 2013 in Paderborn ) was a Catholic priest and cathedral capitular in Paderborn.

Life

After attending school at the Nepomucenum Rietberg high school and studying philosophy and theology in Paderborn and Munich, he was ordained priest on August 6, 1952, together with the future Archbishop Johannes Joachim Degenhardt .

His first position as vicar and religion teacher took him to Warstein from 1952 to 1954 . From 1954 to 1958 as a religion teacher and in the Konvikt Collegium Bernardinum in Attendorn , he was from 1958 to 1967 religion teacher at the Reismann Gymnasium Paderborn and priest in the cathedral parish of St. Johannes Baptist . In 1966 as a staff member and from 1969 to 1980 as head of the School and Education Department of the General Vicariate , Horstkemper was also entrusted with further training as a diocesan catechist from 1965 . From 1981 to 1985 as head of the main human resources department, he was then head of the central pastoral staff department until 1995. From 1995 to 2003 he performed special tasks and in 2003 he retired as cathedral chapter. In the years up to 2010 he worked as a pastor for old and sick priests in the Archdiocese of Paderborn.
