Gerhard Joseph von Herresdorf
Gerhard Joseph von Herresdorf (* in Cologne ; † September 11, 1792 in Cologne) was a priest and official .
After receiving his Lic. Jur. had received his doctorate, he, the son of a Cologne mayor , was ordained a priest . In 1750, the Cologne Auxiliary Bishop Franz Kaspar von Franken-Siersdorf transferred his canonical to St. Severin (Cologne) and in 1752 to his canonical, which Herresdorf took up on December 8th. From 1740 to 1778 canon in Bonn and also in Münstereifel , he became canon of Cologne on January 21, 1776 . Already under Archbishop Maximilian Friedrich von Königsegg-Rothenfels he was promoted to Spiritual Conference Councilor , and Archbishop Maximilian Franz of Austria made him an official. At the same time he was President of the Court of Justice and Secretary of the Spiritual Council .
