Gerhard Ladner (born May 10, 1911 in Berlin ; † December 3, 1989 in Rickling ) was a German film architect of the 1940s.

Live and act

Ladner received training as a theater painter in his hometown of Berlin. He began his professional life as a painter for the stage and film. At the beginning of the Second World War , Ladner was active as an assistant production designer (e.g. for the film Falschmünzer in 1940 ), and in 1941 the experienced film architect Max Mellin brought him to his side and had Ladner implement his designs.

In collaboration with Mellin, Ladner also realized the buildings for two great public successes by Helmut Käutner , Wirmachen Musik and Große Freiheit No. 7 . After the end of the war, Ladner quickly found his way back into the film scene at the side of other colleagues, and by the beginning of the 1950s he was hardly active in film. Most recently, Gerhard Ladner retired to Schleswig-Holstein .
