Gerhard Patzig
Gerhard Patzig (born September 4, 1927 in Burgk ; † July 29, 2009 ) was a German art dealer and painter.
Life
Patzig grew up in the neighborhood of the painter Hermann Lange . After school he learned to be a mechanical engineer. In 1946 he took lessons from the academician AH Köhler in Dresden and got a job in the “Schlueter” gallery in Freital . There he showed his first exhibition in 1947.
In 1954, Patzig founded his own art store with an antiquarian bookshop in Freital, which had to be closed in 1983 due to tax debts. After this time he began to paint again and showed his first personal exhibition in Dresden in 1989 .
In 2008 Gerhard Patzig was honored with the art prize of the city of Freital.
