Gerhard Reinert (artist)

Gerhard Reinert (born October 20, 1950 in Rastenburg ) is a German visual artist .

life and work

Gerhard Reinert studied at the Berlin University of the Arts and at the Ruhr University in Bochum . Since 1986 he has been working as a freelance artist in the areas of installation art , objects and spaces. His intermedia approach is evident in the production of experimental films, interactive websites and the publication of books. The use of scattering, fragmentation and delimitation is characteristic of his concept . In addition to his artistic work, he works as an exhibition maker. He founded the Kunst-Wirk-Raum, Recklinghausen (1988) and Berlin (1999) and in 2014 the Atelierhaus Recklinghausen. (with Emmy Rindtorff) and in 1990 became a member of the West German Artists Association .
