Gerhard Zickenheiner (born April 1, 1961 in Lörrach ) is a German politician from Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen and has been a member of the German Bundestag since January 1, 2019 .

Study and life

Gerhard Zickenheiner obtained the general university entrance qualification in Lörrach and then studied architecture in Karlsruhe and Stuttgart and graduated with a diploma (FH). He then completed a degree in architecture at ETSAB Barcelona and a degree in conceptual design at the State Academy of the Arts "Städelschule" in Frankfurt and graduated as a master class student with Enric Miralles . He also completed a master's program "municipal, urban and regional development" at the School of Social Work in Lucerne .

He has been married to Eleonora Zickenheiner since 2017 and has two adult sons (born in 1999 and 1997).

After completing his studies, Gerhard Zickenheiner founded "Zickenheiner Architektur". Since 2018 he has been managing the now renamed "Jansen Zickenheiner Interior Architects.Architekten" in partnership with Marko Jansen. When planning and building, the architecture office strives for ecological and sustainable solutions. The architecture office has received several awards, including the "Exemplary Building" prize from the Baden-Württemberg Chamber of Architects and the "Architecture Prize 2010" from the Black Forest building culture. Since taking up his mandate in the Bundestag in January 2019, he has retired from management. From 2010 until joining the Bundestag, Zickenheiner was a member of the board of the German Werkbund Baden-Württemberg. In addition to his professional work, he volunteered in the Black Forest Nature Park .

Political career

Zickenheiner has been a member of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen since 2012 and sat in the district council of the Lörrach district from 2015 to 2018 . On January 1, 2019, he took over the Bundestag mandate from Gerhard Schick and has been a member of the German Bundestag since then . There he is a member of the Committee on European Union Affairs and the Parliamentary Advisory Council on Sustainable Development .
