Gerhild Halfmeier
Gerhild Halfmeier , b. Kern, (born November 13, 1942 in Prenzlau ; † April 20, 2020 ) was a Hamburg politician of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) and a member of the Hamburg Parliament .
Life and politics
Halfmeier was the daughter of the mayor of Espelkamp Wilhelm Kern (1905-1967). The trained teacher joined the SPD in 1969 and was a member of the Hamburg-Eimsbüttel district assembly from 1978 to 1986 . In addition, she was chairwoman of the Hamburg-Lokstedt local committee from 1982 to 1986 .
She was a member of the Hamburg citizenship from 1986 to 1997. During that time, she was on the committee for schools, youth and vocational training, the sports committee and the culture committee.
In addition to her parliamentary work, she was a member of the Education and Science Union (GEW) and is a highly committed volunteer.
