The judicial district of Donaustadt is a judicial district in Vienna that is subordinate to the District Court of Donaustadt . The judicial district was created in 1985/86 by separating it from the Floridsdorf judicial district and encompasses the entire 22nd district of Vienna, Donaustadt .

history

The area of ​​today's municipality of Donaustadt was originally part of the Lower Austrian judicial district of Großenzersdorf . Even after large areas of Lower Austria were incorporated into Greater Vienna in the course of the National Socialist administrative change, today's parts of the Danube city remained part of the judicial district of Großenzersdorf. In the course of the final incorporation of the district in 1954, the new district area of ​​the 22nd district of Vienna was separated from the judicial district of Großenzersdorf and added to the judicial district of Floridsdorf on January 1, 1955 . In 1985 the federal government established the Donaustadt District Court, separating the Donaustadt from the Floridsdorf judicial district and making it a separate judicial district. Today, Donaustadt is the largest judicial district of the federal capital Vienna in terms of area and has the only judicial auction hall in Austria.
