Germán Gustavo Herrera or Germán Herrera for short (born July 19, 1983 in Santa Fe ) is a football player from Argentina . The striker is currently playing in the UAE Arabian Gulf League at the Emirates Club .

Career

society

Herrera learned the ABCs of football in the youth department of Rosario Central before moving to their professional squad in 2002. There he was regularly deployed. After two seasons, the offensive player moved to league rival CA San Lorenzo de Almagro . He quickly gained a regular place here. After another two years, Herrera and San Lorenzo decided on a loan deal with the Brazilian club Gremio Porto Alegre . Good performances at the time drew the attention of European teams to the attacker. So it was that Herrera moved to the Spanish club Real Sociedad San Sebastián during the winter break of 2006/07 . There he made his league debut in the Primera División against Valencia CF on January 21, 2007 . At that time he came on in the 71st minute for Gari Uranga . He also played his last game for Real Sociedad against FC Valencia on June 17, 2006. However, he did not make the breakthrough and so he was soon drawn back to the old club in San Lorenzo, home in Argentina. Herrera did not last long here and after a short interlude he decided to transfer to league rivals Gimnasia y Esgrima de La Plata . But there the sporting development was rather modest, just like that of the club. Neither under Francisco Maturana nor under Julio César Falcioni did the attacker convince and so the chapter was quickly over and the offensive player moved to Brazil on loan to Corinthians São Paulo in 2008 . He found his instinct for goal again with the then second division team and, together with fellow striker Dentinho , was the best attacker of his team with 14 goals. At the end of the season the team got out of the Série B in the Series A on. For the new season Herrera was again committed by Gremio Porto Alegre. A year later it was awarded to Botafogo FR .

National team

Herrera was Argentina’s U-20 international . The attacker scored four goals in twelve games. With these he took part in the 2003 Junior World Cup . There he came to seven missions and one hit during the course of the tournament. In the semi-finals, the team was eliminated 0-1 against eventual winners Brazil. The team also left the field as a loser in the game for third place.
