The German Dreiband Masters ( GDM for short ) was a tournament series in the three- cushion billiard discipline and took place for the first time from May 31 to June 2, 2013 in Herten .

history

The GDM was founded in summer 2012 by Markus Dömer and Jens Eggers and approved on July 20, 2012 by the German Billard Union (DBU,) as an independent tournament. It is held immediately after the end of the season and should take place annually. Prize money of € 4,550 plus bonuses for the best series and the best game will be paid out (see table of prize money ). Dömer has since withdrawn from the organization for private reasons.

mode

The GDM is an invitation tournament for a total of 16 players. The following are invited:

1. the best 14 players according to the Bundesliga rankings (1st & 2nd Bundesliga)
2. 2 wildcard players (GDM-WC, MyWebSport -WC)

In the preliminary round the game is played on 40 points with a push-button, and from the final round on 50 points without a push-button. The shot clock is set to 50 seconds with the option of 2 timeouts per game. The two group winners in the preliminary round move on to the final round. In the preliminary round it is played on four tables, then only on two tables. All games will be broadcast live by the Internet TV station Kozoom .
