German Economic Association of Business Administration
The German Economic Association of Business Administration e. V. (GEABA) was founded in 2000 by Peter-J. Jost ( WHU - Otto Beisheim School of Management ) was founded as a non-profit association based in Koblenz . The purpose of the association is to promote the application and further development of the instruments and methods developed in microeconomic theory in information economy , game theory , empirical economic research , new institutional economics or economic psychology on economic, in particular operational issues.
The purpose of the statutes is realized through the creation of a forum for a common interdisciplinary exchange of experiences between business economists and economists. The subject of research can be a wide variety of internal company problems that arise, for example, in the areas of finance, company policy, internal or inter-company organization or strategic management.
GEABA currently has 157 members (as of June 2009).
Symposia
GEABA organizes an annual symposium on the economic analysis of the company. Each conference consists of a closed and an open part. In the closed part, the opening session, three renowned speakers from science, practice and politics will present current company issues and answer the questions of the participants in a subsequent panel discussion. The conference is held every year at and with a different university.

In the open part of the event, current research work on a wide variety of corporate theory issues will be presented. The work went through an assessment process in advance, in which the members of the GEABA scientific advisory board act as reviewers. After the presentation, a co-referee comments on the respective work, which is followed by a general discussion. A total of one hour is available for each lecture.
Discussion Papers Series
In addition to these symposia, GEABA publishes a series of scientific discussion papers. Recorded work is reviewed in advance by the members of the GEABA scientific advisory board.
Walther Rathenau Prize
The Walther Rathenau Prize has been awarded to authors of outstanding work since 2003 at the annual GEABA conference and is endowed with 500 €.
organs
The organs of the association are the general assembly, the board of directors and the scientific advisory board. The general meeting takes place annually after the symposium. Their tasks include in particular the election (and deselection) of the board of directors for a two-year term.
The board consists of three people, the 1st and 2nd chairman and the treasurer. Currently these are:
