Gerriet K. Sharma

Gerriet K. Sharma (* 1974 in Bonn ) is a German sound artist and composer.

Career

Sharma researches and works interdisciplinary as a sound artist with phenomena of acoustic perception. Sharma studied media arts at the Art Academy for Media (KHM) Cologne and composition / computer music at the University of Music and Performing Arts Graz (KUG). In 2016 he completed his dissertation at the artistic and scientific doctoral school of the KUG.

From 2015 to 2018 Sharma was Senior Artistic Researcher of the OSIL project (Orchestrating Space by Icosahedral Loudspeaker) in the program for the development and opening up of the arts (PEEK) of the Austrian Science Fund (FWF). From spring 2016 he worked together with physicists from the Helmholtz Center Berlin (HZB) on the sound art project "gleAM".

For the winter semester 2017/18 he was appointed to the Edgar Varèse Professorship ( DAAD ) at the TU Berlin .
