Ladislaus Simacek

Ladislaus Adalbert Simacek (born November 20, 1913 in Vienna ; † March 19, 2004 there ) was an Austrian obstacle , medium and long-distance runner and entrepreneur .

Life

Simacek completed an apprenticeship as a druggist . He later became the managing director of Jencik Durchgasungstechnik. In 1941/42 he founded the LA Simacek company. From 1960 to 1979 he was the guild master for building cleaners and pest control . In 2019, the third generation of the Simacek Group, led by granddaughter Ursula Simacek, with around 8,000 employees, had a turnover of around 200 million euros.

Sports

At the 1936 Olympic Games in Berlin, he was eliminated from over 3000 m obstacle in the run after he was pushed into the moat by a falling runner.

In 1934 - although he lost a shoe in the water ditch in the process - and in 1936 (with his personal best time of 9: 56.8 min) he was Austrian champion over 3000 m obstacle, in 1934 over 1500 m (4: 09.6 min) and in 1936 over 5000 m .
