Gert Lütgert

Gert Lütgert (born November 27, 1939 in Frankfurt am Main ; † October 8, 2016 there ) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and a former member of the Hessian state parliament .

education and profession

After graduating from secondary school, Lütgert trained in the public service. From 1963 to 1976 he was union secretary on the board of IG Metall in Frankfurt am Main.

politics

Lütgert had been a member of the SPD since 1957. 1968 to 1972 he was district chairman of the Jusos Hessen-Süd and since 1969 also a member of the SPD executive committee Hessen-Süd.

On December 1, 1970 he became a member of the Hessian state parliament. He stayed there a total of seven terms until he left on April 4, 1995. In 1983, 1987 and 1991 he was directly elected member of the Lahn-Dill I constituency. At times, Lütgert was a member of the executive committee of the SPD parliamentary group in the Hessian state parliament. In the parliamentary group he was media policy spokesman from 1974 to 1995.

From 1991 to 1995 he was chairman of the main committee of the Hessian state parliament.

In 1974, 1979 and 1984 Lütgert was a member of the Federal Assembly .

Other offices

Lütgert was a member of the broadcasting council of the Hessischer Rundfunk and was a member of its board of directors.
