Gertrud Pfister

Gertrud Pfister (born December 12, 1945 ) is a German sports scientist and sports historian.

Life

After studying Latin and history at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität in Munich and graduating as a state-certified ski instructor, she received her doctorate. phil. in Regensburg in ancient history . Horst Ueberhorst brought her to the Ruhr-Universität Bochum as an assistant in sports , where she also received a doctorate in sports sociology in 1980. rer. pole. before she accepted a professorship for sports science with a focus on sports history / sports sociology at the PH Berlin / FU Berlin in 1981 . In 1986 she also completed her habilitation in sports science at the Ruhr University. In 2001 she moved to a chair in sports science at the University of Copenhagen . Her main focus is on the history and sociology of women's sports . In doing so, she dealt with female athletes as well as sports officials and sports scientists.
