Getoar Selimi

Getoar Selimi (stage name: Ghetto Geasy or Geti ; born July 6, 1982 in Priština ) is an Albanian rapper and songwriter . He is a member of the rap duo Tingulli Trent , with whom he achieved a high level of awareness in the Albanian region and in the Albanian diaspora , and he also founded the Babastars label . Selimi is one of the most popular and influential musicians in the Albanian region and is married to the Albanian presenter Marina Vjollca.

Career

Getoar Selimi was born in 1982 in the Kosovar capital Prishtina . At the age of 12 he started recording his first songs. In 1996 Getoar formed the band Tingulli 3 (German: "the three tones" ) with Jeton Tepusha and Besa Gashi . However, after two released singles, they ended the collaboration. Then Agon Sylejmani alias Big Zig now (Agon Amiga) joined the group. At first they did not change the name, but later the name Tingulli Trent (German: "crazy tones / noises" ), which is very similar to the old one, prevailed. In 1998 he formed a hip-hop clan called Kosova Out Laëz Clan . As a member of Tingulli Trent he worked with many well-known Albanian musicians, such as Etno Engjujt or Hilja e jetes . In 2010 Selimi founded the very successful Babastars label, which includes rappers Cozman and Skivi . Selimi wrote lyrics by famous musicians such as Tuna and Leonora Jakupi .
