August Staude , also known as Beverages Staude , was the company name of a beer wholesaler and soft drinks manufacturer with an attached mineral water factory in Hanover and Langenhagen .

history

The company was initially founded as a small sole proprietorship in the early days of the German Empire on April 20, 1882 at Schulzenstrasse 2 in the northern part of Hanover . After the company's founder died in 1914, his eldest son Gustav Staude took over the company and continued to run it "under the most difficult of circumstances" during the First World War . In 1920 August Staude took over the company as owner and expanded the product range to include bottled beer, mineral water and lemonades.

During the air raids on Hanover in World War II, the company buildings and most of the machines were destroyed by aerial bombs. However, under the British military government , August Staude was able to begin rebuilding at Alleestrasse 15 in 1946 , also in the northern part of Hanover. The difficult new start could only succeed with the help of the old regular customers.

August Staude had also grown so rapidly in the post-war period that from autumn 1951 larger premises were built on a larger, own piece of land at the address Schulenburger Landstrasse 25 , which could be moved into on the 70th anniversary of the founding. At the location in the Hainholz district , in addition to bottling beer, soft drinks were now also produced.

The company later moved into two 18,000 and 5000 square meters of land in Langenhagen , including Kiefernsämlingen 1 in the 1970s .

In 2004 Staude was taken over by the family-run Waldhoff Group . Beverages Staude is counted among the GERMANY Major Wholesalers & Retailers . In 2011 Staude was merged with the beverage wholesaler Brunnenkopp, which was also taken over by the Waldhoff Group, to form a larger company, Brunnenkopp & Staude Logistik (B & S). The last 85 Staude employees then moved into the larger company headquarters in Ronnenberg , district of Empelde .

The premises in Langenhagen, however, remained in the possession of the Staude family, who were then rented to Waldhoff by the last managing director of Getränke Staude, Hanns Werner Staude. In addition, the Staude family held a small stake in the newly founded, larger beverage wholesaler.
