The dyke association was dissolved again in 1952. From 1953 to 1990 VEB (Z) water management, the water management department , the state melioration companies and the melioration cooperatives took on the tasks of water maintenance and dike maintenance in the Oderbruch.

On June 27, 1991, the Oderbruch waters and dyke association was re-established.
