Ghalymqayyr Mutanov
Ghalymqajyr Mutanuly Mutanow ( Kazakh Ғалымқайыр Мұтанұлы Мұтанов , Russian Галимкаир Мутанович Мутанов Galimkair Mutanowitsch Mutanow * 27. March 1957 in Belterek, Oblast Semipalatinsk, Kazakhstan SSR ) is a Kazakh mathematicians . Since 2010 he has been the rector of Al Farabi University .
Life
Ghalymqajyr Mutanow was born in Belterek in what is now Sharma County in Eastern Kazakhstan in 1957 . Between 1974 and 1979 he studied at the Kazakh Polytechnic Institute in Alma-Ata , where he graduated in automation and telemechanics. After graduating from college, Mutanow initially worked as an assistant at the industrial institute in Rudny . In 1980 he went to Moscow , where he did a two-year research internship at the Institute for Steel and Alloys. Then he went back to the industrial institute in Rudny as a lecturer. In 1982 he became a doctoral student at the Moscow Mining Institute. Here he obtained the academic degree of candidate in technical sciences in 1987 at the age of 36 .
After completing his doctorate, he returned to Rudny, where he taught as a lecturer at the industrial institute. There he was awarded the academic title of associate professor in 1991. In 1995 he became rector of the Petropavl Technical University . After the university merged with the University of Petropavl the following year, he became rector of the North Kazakhstan State University . In 1996 he also obtained the degree of Professor in Computer Science and Management. Mutanow has been a corresponding member of the Kazakh Engineering Academy since 1997; he has been a full member since 1999. In 2002 he became the first deputy minister of education and science in the Kazakh government. In 2003 he was appointed rector of the East Kazakhstan State Technical University . In 2008 he became a full member of the Kazakh Academy of Natural Sciences and also a member of the Academy's executive committee.
Mutanow has been rector of Al-Farabi University since October 7, 2010 . Since 2012 he has been a corresponding member of the Kazakh Academy of Sciences in the Department of Physics and Mathematics. He has also been a member of the World Academy of Art and Science since 2014.
