Nunarsuaq [ nuˈnɑsːuɑq ] (according to the old spelling Nunarssuaĸ ) is a deserted Greenlandic settlement in the Nanortalik district in the municipality of Kujalleq .
location
Nunarsuaq is located on the island of the same name , although the exact position is unknown. Directly north of the island is the peninsula with Narsarmijit on the west coast .
history
Nunarsuaq was a residential area in the 19th century. Among other things, a settlement between 1837 and 1853 is documented. In 1869 an apartment was built there for the trade administrator and in 1888 a bacon house with a shop. The place, however, was abandoned in 1900 and was only as a summer place for hunting hooded by the people of Pamialluk used.
