Sarfaa [ sɑˈfːaː ] (according to the old spelling Sarfâ ) is a desolate Greenlandic settlement in the Nanortalik district in the municipality of Kujalleq .
location
Sarfaa is located at the mouth of Tasiusaarsuk Bay in Alluitsup Kangerlua . The next inhabited place Ammassivik is only 2.5 km north .
history
Sarfaa was founded in 1913 as a fishing station. The place belonged to the municipality of Sydprøven. In 1919 Sarfaa had 11 residents who lived in two Greenlandic houses. There was a 150 m² fish house with a salt factory on site, a petroleum house and a storage shed. The fishery manager lived in the attic of the fish house. It was considered to make the station to Udsted , but the place was abandoned again in 1922.
