Giacomo Zanella
Giacomo Zanella (* 1820 in Chiampo , Vicenza Province , Italy , † May 17, 1888 in Vicenza ) was an Italian poet and literary historian .

Life
Zanella initially devoted himself to the priesthood, and in 1855 became professor of philosophy at the Liceo di Santa Caterina in Venice . In 1856 he became director of the Ginnaseo liceale in Vicenza and in 1866 professor of Italian literature at the University of Padua . In 1872 he withdrew from this position for health reasons into private life. Zanella was one of the most famous poets in Parnassus, Italy. In 1886 he was accepted into the Accademia della Crusca in Florence .

Zanella's poetry was characterized by an elegant style and was inspired by objects of science and their practical successes, such as: B. in one of his better known poems La conchiglia fossile . Other works were:
