Giancarlo Bolognini

Giancarlo Bolognini (born August 11, 1938 in Giacciano con Baruchella , Province of Rovigo ; † May 29, 2019 in Bolzano ) is an Italian politician, former mayor of Bolzano and sports official.

Life

Bolognini was elected to the Bolzano municipal council in 1965 on the list of Democrazia Cristiana . On July 2, 1968, he replaced Giorgio Pasquali , who was running for the regional council, as mayor, a position he held until his resignation on August 26, 1983.

In 1983 Bolognini was elected to the regional council of Trentino-South Tyrol and thus at the same time to the South Tyrolean parliament , of which he was vice-president until May 7, 1984. He then became state councilor in the state government led by Silvius Magnago ( Magnago VI cabinet ). In the legislative period from 1988 to 1993 he was again a member of the state parliament and member of the state government - this time with Luis Durnwalder as state governor - and after the resignation of Remo Ferretti in 1993, he was temporarily deputy governor in the Durnwalder I cabinet .

After the end of his political career, Bolognini worked as a sports official and from 1997 to 2014 President of the Italian Ice Sports Federation (FISG) .
