Gianni Vitiello

Gianni Vitiello (* 1973 in Koblenz ; † December 11, 2009 in Berlin ) was a German DJ of Berlin's techno underground culture .

Vitiello grew up in Minden and moved from the Cologne area to Berlin in 1996. Here he played at alternative or illegal parties and played for the party collectives Pyonen , Neurocomic and Wagtail . He became a popular club DJ and played in Tresor , Sage Club , SO 36 , Deli , Casino , Polar TV or Bar 25 . TenDance magazine voted him DJ of the month in November 2000 . He had bigger appearances in the Arena Berlin , the Nation of Gondwana , the Fusion Festival or traditionally at the end of the Carnival of Cultures - parade on the truck of the Pyons .

On December 11th, 2009 he died of the consequences of a circulatory failure after a performance in the Kreuzberg club Ritter Butzke . His partner was the children's and youth author and translator Andreas Steinhöfel .
