The giant tomb Taccu 'e Ticci ( Italian Tomba di Giganti Taccu' e Ticci ) is located near the southern edge of the plateau of the same name near Seulo in the province of Cagliari in Sardinia .

The buildings called "Tumbas de los zigantes" in Sardu are the largest prenuraghic cult structures in Sardinia and are among the latest megalithic structures in Europe . The 321 known giant tombs are monuments of the Bronze Age Bonnanaro culture (2200 to 1600 BC), which is the forerunner of the nuragic culture .

Series of types of Sardinian megaliths

Type sequence

Structurally, giant tombs appear in two variants. The systems with portal steles and exedra are of the older type. In the later complexes, the exedra consists instead of monolithic steles , of a square facade, significantly raised in the middle, made of processed, layered stone blocks. The giant tomb Taccu 'e Ticci belongs to the younger type (with a square facade).

description

The giant grave was excavated and restored from 2010 to 2011. The chamber that is visible today and the exedra are largely the result of the restoration, in which sections were supplemented with dry masonry .

The finds include ceramics, spindle whorls , pestles, two bronze daggers and the remains of at least 140 people.
