Gillian Adamson

Gillian (Gil) Adamson (born January 1, 1961 in North York , Ontario ) is a Canadian writer and poet .

Life

Gil Adamson grew up in the greater Toronto area . She studied anthropology and philosophy at the University of Toronto . In 1985 she began her professional career at Coach House Press as an editorial assistant and publicist . In 1987, Adamson moved to CBC Radio Guide to work as a publishing assistant. She has also worked as a publicist for the Toronto Small Press Book Fair and What! active. In 1991 she published her first own collection of poems, Primitive . The second collection of poems appeared in 2003 under the title Ashland . In addition to short stories, she published the successful novel Outlander in 2007 .

She lives in Toronto , Canada with her husband, freelance editor, poet and cook Kevin Connolly .
