Gilbert Hatton

Gilbert "Gil" Hatton , also Gibby Hatton , (born July 31, 1956 in Alburtis ) is a former American track cyclist and current trainer.

In 1976 and 1977 Gil Hatton was runner-up in the US sprint . At the UCI-Bahn World Championships in 1983 in Zurich , he was third in the Keirin . Hatton was the first US American to be invited to Japan for the " International Keirin Series ". He started there between 1984 and 1991.

Since ending his own active career in 1992, Hatton, also known as The Bear , has been a coach; he supervised u. a. the multiple world champion Marty Nothstein , the Americans Jessica Grieco and Rebecca Quinn and the South African driver Jean-Pierre van Zyl . At the same time, he continues to race in the Masters class.

In 2003, Gil Hatton was inducted into the Hall of Fame of the Valley Preferred Cycling Center in Trexlertown .
