Gilberto Ribeiro Gonçalves (born September 13, 1980 in Andradina , Brazil ) is a Brazilian football player.

Career

He began his professional career in 2000 at the Corinthians São Paulo club , where he was active until 2005. In the first year he played eight games, scoring two goals. In 2001 he played twelve games at the club, with six passes ending in goal. The following year he played 23 games and four passes ended in goal. His highest scoring year was 2003, where he played 31 games and managed to score nine times, the highest number of goals in his career. The highest number of games played was 40 in 2004, when six balls he shot ended up in goal. Last year he was on the lawn four times, scoring one more goal before moving to the Japanese club Tokyo Verdy . There he played 16 games and scored two goals in goal before moving again.

In 2006 he signed a one-year contract with the Brazilian club Cruzeiro Belo Horizonte , where he played 14 games and scored three goals at the end of the year. Then he was in the 2006/07 season at the Spanish club Gimnàstic de Tarragona , where he participated in 19 games, but could never get a ball into the goal. It was the first time in his career that he couldn't score. For this reason, he ended the contract and in 2007 went to Brazilian football clubs for the rest of his career. In 2007 he began his career at the club SC Internacional , where he took part in twelve games in the first year and scored one goal. The next year he took part in three more games before canceling his contract. Gilberto signed a new contract with Botafogo FR , where he played 16 games with the team. In 2009 he took part in the Flamengo Rio de Janeiro club , where he played a goalless game before ending his career.
