The Gilort is a left tributary of the Jiu (German: Schil ) in Romania .
geography
The Gilort rises in the Munții Parâng in the Southern Carpathians . It flows southwards, past the towns of Novaci , Târgu Cărbuneşti and the municipality of Turburea and flows into the Jiu at the level of Tânțăreni .
The length of the Gilort is 116 km; its catchment area is given with 1,348 km², the mean discharge in Turburea with 11.7 m³ / s.
