Location of Gimsbach in Rhineland-Palatinate |
Gimsbach , until July 1936 Gimbsbach , is a part of the municipality of Matzenbach in the Rhineland-Palatinate district of Kusel .
location
It is located north of the core community in the middle of the North Palatinate Uplands . The river Glan is only a few hundred meters to the west.
The Auhof, Hollerhof, Schreckmühle and Wellesbacherhof residential areas also belong to Gimsbach .
history
From 1816 to 1945 Gimsbach was under the district office of Homburg before the then independent municipality was incorporated into the district of Kaiserslautern after the Second World War . In July 1936 the spelling of the community name (originally Gimbsbach ) was changed. In the course of the Rhineland-Palatinate administrative reform, the place was first integrated into the Kusel district on June 7, 1969 and incorporated into Matzenbach on March 20, 1971.
Infrastructure
With the Protestant church, a Winkelhof from the 19th century, a side house with Krüppelwalmbach and a former mill, which is located a little outside the settlement area, there are a total of four cultural monuments on site.
Gimsbach also has an outdoor pool that is heated with solar power.
The Matzenbach residential tower is a former high-rise silo , which was converted into a holiday apartment around 2000 while retaining its round shape .
