Gina Lorentsen (born July 30, 1988 in Gjøvik , Norway ) is a former Norwegian handball player .

Career

Lorentsen initially played for the Norwegian clubs Sverresborg and Orkanger . Then the winger went hunting for goals for Byåsen IL , with whose junior team she won the Norgesmesterkap - Norwegian cup competition - in 2007. Lorentsen ran from the 2006/07 season on with the women's team from Byåsen in the highest Norwegian league. Furthermore, she was in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup that same season .

Lorentsen was in Byåsen on the left wing position behind the Norwegian national player Camilla Herrem only second choice, so she decided in the summer of 2010 to switch to league rivals Storhamar Håndball . After three seasons at Storhamar, she joined the French first division club HAC Handball . From July 1, 2014, the Norwegian will be under contract with the German Bundesliga club SG BBM Bietigheim . She left Bietigheim after the 2014/15 season.

Lorentsen took part in the 2010 beach handball world championship with the Norwegian national beach handball team and won the gold medal there. On March 26, 2011, she made her debut for the Norwegian national team . Then she was no longer considered under national coach Þórir Hergeirsson .
