The "Jesus Boat"

The kibbutz was founded on February 23, 1937 as one of the first tower-and-palisade settlements . Agriculture also plays a major role, the kibbutz builds u. a. Bananas .

A well-known resident of the kibbutz was the politician Jigal Allon . The Yigal Allon Museum and Educational Center , which deals with Allon's life and the history of Galilee, is named after him . The most important and well-known exhibit is the so-called Jesus boat , a 2000 year old fishing boat over eight meters long.
