Virginia "Ginny" Blackmore (born March 6, 1986 in Auckland ) is a New Zealand singer and songwriter.

biography

At 16, Ginny Blackmore dropped out of school to become a singer. Daniel Bedingfield , who found her online, supported her and also helped her when she moved to London at 19 . With the help of a demo tape she came to a contract with Sony Music . At first she only wrote songs for other artists like Christina Aguilera and Adam Lambert . After five years in England, she moved to Los Angeles and got her own record deal with Epic Records in 2011 after auditioning at LA Reid .

With her first single Bones she had a number one hit with platinum status in her home country . In the USA, it made it into the adult pop songs charts. Her second single SFM had previously been recorded by Christina Aguilera under the title Sing for Me .
